Yoga in the Workplace

The practice of Yoga has become even more of a necessity in people’s lives centuries after its creation, due to the sedentary nature of many of our work environments and lifestyles. Yoga in the workplace is an excellent way to help you and your employees benefit from movement.

Yoga not only offers strength and flexibility for the body but places emphasis on breathing techniques and relaxation, teaching individuals to find ways to cope in stressful situations and preventing them from building up tension in the body.

Yoga is ideal on many levels as it integrates the mind, body and soul into one complete and harmonious unit. It addresses functionality on the physical level and promotes flexibility and strength. It helps to cleanse and invigorate internal organs and to relieve emotional blockages that may be causing illnesses or dis-ease to the body. Yoga helps us to enter our inner consciousness allowing us to be in tune with our own pure, natural state of being. Yoga encourages an awareness to attain a healthier way of life.

Corporate Yoga

How can the Corporate Yoga Programme help?
Our Corporate Yoga Programme offers simple exercises that can easily be adapted for the home or office and modified to suit different abilities and skill levels. It also offers an overall positive effect on the entire office environment through teaching employees how to avoid building up stress within the body by learning how to enter a state of inner calm when tasks become too demanding. Consistent, ongoing Yoga practice also offers mental and physical long-term benefits.

Some benefits of Yoga in the workplace that have been reported include:

  • Increased flexibility
  • Reduced tension and stress
  • Increased team morale
  • Increased work-efficiency
  • Reduced risk of injury, resulting in less absenteeism
  • Improved breathing techniques to help combat the effects of stress

  • The ability to find stillness in the mind

Through the practice of Yoga you will be able to stretch and strengthen muscles and joints in the body making it more pleasurable to sit at your desk all day, or easier to stand for longer periods.

The breathing techniques and relaxation are key in allowing your mind and body to find stillness, and to minimise the damaging effects of stress.

Programme Structure:

1 hour per session, weekly , bi-weekly or more

Number of attendees:

Maximum: 20 people


Prerequisite:Individuals are asked to complete a Health Questionnaire before they start the programme.

Please Note:  Women who are pregnant are strongly advised to attend private or semi-private sessions, as they need special attention that cannot be given in group classes.

Private and Semi-Private Sessions

Private (one person) and Semi-Private (two people) sessions are also available on request.
